An award winning youth program director, certified child development professional and the founder of "TeenSpace" a non-profit program that promoted positive teen behavior through music and entertainment, Sally B. Waller aka "Miss Sally"  or "Sallyb" has worked with children of all ages since the late 80's. She's established trust and respect from the parents she's served and the schools and community organizations she's lended her musical talents to.

After working as a recording artist and a lead vocalist in top 40 r&b bands for 15 years, Sallyb, with the support of her husband Rodney Waller, launched VocalzMusic & Publishing (VMP) in 2004, a boutique music business specializing in voice lessons, artist development and publishing services. The business launch followed the success of her son Kyle Ahn, who was a local child singing sensation turn music producer, whom she coached and managed under his then stage name, "Vocalz". Her work as a "momanger" landed her son in Washingtonian Magazine for 2 years in a row, gained them frequent news coverage, performance opportunities, a ton of celebrity connections and it officially established Sallyb as a prominent Voice Coach and recognized music industry professional.

In recent years Sallyb has added artist management, music licensing and media services to her credentials. Most recently she was the artist manager and booking agent for Bunny DeBarge of the legendary Motown recording group, DeBarge. In 2024 Sallyb successfully licensed the DeBarge song "Rhythm of The Night" for a film documentary called 'Relentless" starring famous songwriter, Diane Warren. 

 

As a podcaster of her own show, "Singing Flat With Sallyb" she has worked with a string of performing artists and legendary acts including Faith Evans, Kurtis Blow and "I Love Your Smile" singer, Shanice. She credits former voice coaching client, Tamir Ruffin aka Nokio of the r&b group, "Dru Hill" for continuously promoting her music services to his music industry peers on TikTok resulting in follows from  a long list of big names including Missy Elliott, Mathew Knowles, Siedah Garrett, Sinbad, Erica Campbell, Mya, Angela Winbush, Miki Howard, Ne-yo and so many more. 

 

Sallyb's clients met with her for private lessons and coaching in her home vocal studio in Northern, Va. She also held classes for DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) residents at local schools and community centers throughout Fairfax County & Stafford County, Virginia. After suffering with chronic and debilitating arthritis pain for many years, followed by a faulty foot surgery in 2017 which left her disabled, Sallyb was nolonger able to travel to Miss America Pageants, voice lesson recitals, or music studios to support her clients. During the covid pandemic she switched from in-person sessions at her home studio to offering remote voice training and artist development sessions via "Zoom", "Facetime" and "Google Meet" to clients across the U.S. until further notice.

Sallyb accepts children and adults of all skill levels into her private and semi-private online lessons. She coaches singers, public speakers and voice-actors. She's not an acting coach but she has directed a few plays over the years. She offers monologue coaching and she'll help students practice their lines for school plays. Those services may be purchased under private lessons.

 

With Voice Coach Sallyb, singers can expect an enjoyable comprehensible learning experience from a very knowledgeable music industry professional. You'll have fun studying the art of singing. Pop, soulful r&b and musical theater songs are used to demonstrate certain techniques you'll study with her. Through vocal choreography training you'll learn to find your own unique voice and style.
